Pencil on paper. The assignment was to explore the Ohio State Knowlton School of Architecture Library and find a 20th-century chair on exhibit. I chose the Eames LCW Chair because of its curved form. As seen below, every surface of the chair flows together. The curved edges reminded me of the sleek, aerodynamic design of an airplane. This imagined home sits on top of a hill, which is also a curved structure of the earth. The base of the home would be made from concrete with a texture and pattern of wood. To create this one might press textured wood planks against the drying concrete to ingrain the pattern. I also imagine each window being a different color of stained glass. The rooftop garden would tie together the natural and man-made elements of the home.
