This work was created with procreate on an iPad. I was inspired by magazine covers, with a large title and center image then smaller sub-text.
When working in a Neurobiology Lab at The Ohio State University I was drawn to the branching star-like cells in our brain, called astrocytes. We used confocal microscopy, which uses scanning lasers to image tissue with extreme detail, to visualize astrocytes in the pyramidal cell layer of mouse hippocampus. The hippocampus is a structure in our brain that plays a key role in learning and memory.
